Libel Lawyer Lin Wood Settles Second Defamation Suit With CNN
March 05, 2020
A defamation case against CNN over its 2015 investigation of infant deaths at a Florida hospital has settled confidentially—the second settlement that Atlanta libel lawyer L. Lin Wood has reached with CNN this year.
The Atlanta-based cable news network’s settlement resolves a $30 million libel lawsuit filed by David Carbone, the former CEO of St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida, Wood said.
Wood’s co-counsel, Stacey Evans of Atlanta’s Wargo and French, said the case was settled “to the mutual satisfaction of the parties.”
